Learning outcomes:
Participants will be given a sound overview of those fundamentals of German civil law that are of relevance to students of business administration. Students will gain a basic understanding of the function and mechanisms of civil law, and will become acquainted with the major provisions of the first (general) part of the German Civil Code, general contract law, general law of obligations (particularly contract law) and with the most important types of contracts used in business environments. By receiving practical examples throughout the course, students will learn the correct way to incorporate statutory requirements into their later professional activities.
