Learning outcomes:
At the end of this course, students will be able to: - think in economic and, particularly, business-management terms; - explain and classify the most important rudimentary principles of business administration; - provide an overview of the foundations and characteristic features of the tourism industry from a business management perspective; - appreciate the fundamentals of marketing and understand its position within the corporate environment; - present an overview of the functions and responsibilities of marketing; - appreciate the way in which basic market-oriented strategies and concepts are applied; - provide an overview of (i) basic functions in business economics (procurement management, production management, sales management, etc.); (ii) key areas affecting business production (personnel management, materials management, corporate finance, information management, etc. ); (iii) theories of business management; - explain and resolve personnel management issues in companies; - explain and resolve issues relating to organizational workflow and structures in companies.
