Learning outcomes:
Experience shows that at the start of their studies, students form a very heterogeneous group. Very few of them will have any background knowledge in economics. The initial aim of this course is therefore to get students acquainted with the somewhat abstract way of thinking used in economics and with the range of tools employed in economic analyses. In the second stage of the course, students will learn to apply this knowledge and these methodologies to a microeconomic analysis of the behaviour of domestic households and of companies active in different types of markets.
