30 class hours (= 22.5 clock hours) over a 15-week period. The total student study time is 60 hours (equivalent to 2 ECTS credits). There are therefore 37.5 hours available for class preparation and follow-up work and exam preparation.

Learning outcomes:
Acquisition and improvement of German language proficiency across the four key language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing). The central focus of the course is language learning relevant to communication and reception in everyday student and working life during bachelor level studies.

Topic “Everyday life & professional environment”: Small talk; simple conversations with fellow students, colleagues and others; asking for information, providing information about professional qualifications, CV writing, simple formal correspondence, messages and emails (e.g. to superiors and colleagues).

Teaching methods/Media:
Language course with a pragmatic awareness approach. A wide variety of educational resources (print, audios, videos, e-learning) are used while taking account of the particular learning practices of the target group.
