Learning outcomes:
After successfully completing this module, students will be able to: - recognize and apply the essential rules of scientific writing - use relevant scientific sources productively - use authentic written texts for continuous improvement of their own scientific English - apply the relevant content-related criteria from the evaluation of scientific essays to their own scientific texts - systematically structure scientific facts - understand the basic rules of scientific writing in English and to apply them - improve their skills in scientific writing and presentation and master relevant English-language science situations - write a short technical essay according to scientific criteria

- Reading and writing skills - This module is oriented on students’ academic reality - Vocabulary, grammar, and phrases relevant to students´ scientific English - Relevant academic text types (e.g., Abstracts, scientific essays, reviews) and their use as learning materials - Scientific work techniques

Use of a multimedia computer language laboratory Use of a wide range of multimedia: Video, radio, scientific literature, computer-based interactivity Partner work, group work and role playing Presentations and short talks by students Presentations by the lecturer Discussions Internet research The goal is to enable an authentic classroom communication situation within the teaching environment.
